Air Fryer Corn Tortilla Chips

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Measuring spoons
  • medium bowl
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients
 

For the Tortilla chips

  • 2 Corn tortillas
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat your air fryer
  • Cut the 2 tortillas into three strips with scissors or a knife.
    Cut corn tortilla in thirds
  • Then cut the strips into triangles.

  • Place the triangles in a large bowl or a plastic bag with 1 tbsp vegetable oil.
    Add oil to tortilla chips
  • Add ½ tsp salt.
  • Mix together to give a light coating on all the tortilla pieces.
  • Put half the tortilla chips into the basket, or as many as you can in a single layer.
  • Set the air fryer to 180C for 4 minutes.
  • Check after 2 minutes and shake or move around with a heatproof spatula, then finish the 'frying'

  • Once golden brown, remove the tortilla chips to a cooling tray and leave to cool. They will crisp up as they cool.
  • Repeat with the remaining tortilla chips.

  • Serve the Air Fryer Corn Tortilla Chips with Avocado Salsa and sour cream.

Notes

Serve the tortilla chips with the salsa and a chilled glass of wine, lager, iced tea, whatever takes your fancy!
If you don't have an air fryer, then you can bake the tortilla chips on a baking sheet in the oven at the same temperature but you might need to bake them a little longer.
