Spiced Pickling Vinegar

Equipment

  • Large saucepan
  • measuring jug
  • Measuring spoons
  • 1 litre glass bottle or jar

Ingredients
 

  • 1 litre vinegar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 1 tsp whole all spice berries

Instructions
 

  • Put 1 cinnamon stick, 1 tsp whole cloves and 1 tsp all spice berries to the vinegar.
  • Add 1 litre of vinegar into a large pan.
  • Bring the vinegar and spice mixture to the boil then turn down the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Strain out the spices and either store the spiced vinegar in sterilised glass jars or bottles.
  • Or let it cool and either use immediately or store to make pickles later.
