Chocolate Krispies Easter Nests are ideal to make with Children

Chocolate Krispies are fun to make and easy enough for children to make with only a little supervision needed when melting the chocolate. Then let them loose with the decorations.

How to make Chocolate Krispies Easter Nests

Melted Chocolate

Melt the Chocolate

Melt the chocolate in a large bowl over a pan of simmer water.

Chocolate in a bowl for Chocolate Krispies

What kind of chocolate should I use?

I use half and half dark (semi-sweet) chocolate and milk chocolate for this recipe as I like a slightly less sweet taste

Use all dark chocolate or all milk chocolate if that is what you prefer. Children often prefer milk chocolate

Rice Krispies

Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the chocolate

Weigh the rice krispies cereal, then add it to the melted chocolate and stir until all the rice kristpies are covered in chocolate.

Apologies for the green tinge to the photograph. Note to self: don’t use a green bowl in photographs!

Spoon into paper cases

Spoon the chocolate and cereal mixture into paper muffin or cupcake cases and decorate with the candy covered mini eggs.

Chill in the refrigerator until set.

Serve the Chocolate Krispies Easter Nests in a decorated Easter Basket with pretty eggs and little fluffy yellow chicks.

Or serve on a pretty plate or bowl with Easter decorations.

Really pretty presentation. I love simple little nests like this – I usually use shredded wheat to make them more nest-like (but no good for your guest!). I'm sure your guest will be really pleased that you've catered for them!

Goodness, that really does take me back. Last time I had those I think I was at least 35 years younger!

And they were nothing like as pretty as your version Janice
